It was the perfect location for our hikes and had everything we needed. The food was delicious (we booked the dinners every day and enjoyed the breakfast buffet), especially the options/adjustments for my food allergy (GF).

Barton Hall has loads of character. Breakfast was excellent. Nice little discovery, will definitely be back!

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Lowthwaite B&B is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Watermillock, 13 km from Askham Hall. We had a fantastic stay in Jim's and Tine's place! Highly recommended. Hosts are very friendly - you can feel that everything is done with great love - nice rooms, super delicious home made breakfast (even bread!!) by Tine, Jim was very helpful providing tips on best hiking routes. other great thing - you can get very nice packed lunch every day for your hiking trips. lots of places for dinners in local pubs nearby - Jim was very helpful to suggest and recommend. Car is needed, but everything is very close. we are looking forward to come back again!

Captured the essence of the beautiful Lake Districts. Hosts were so welcoming, went the extra mile to book us a place for dinner nearby and the home made cake was out of this world. Exceptional quality through and through. Highly recommended.
